Bosch Dishwashers Series 2, 4, 6, 8

Bosch dishwashers are known for their reliability, relatively reasonable prices, and the variety of product versions they offer consumers. If you’re looking for a dishwasher but don’t know which version to get, it’s worth comparing the differences between Bosch dishwasher series 2, 4, 6, and 8.

All Bosch series offer top-quality dishwashing, but series 8 is the best, offering many programs, extra cutlery drawers, and a quieter experience. Series 6 and 4 include fewer programs and no extra space but still provide a range of features. Series 2 is louder and more basic, but also the cheapest.

Continue reading this article to learn more about each of these versions and how they measure against one another. You’ll see the main differences between series 2, 4, 6, and 8, as well as their similarities so that you can make an informed decision. Let’s get started!

Bosch Dishwasher Series 4 vs. 6

If you’re trying to decide between a series 4 or 6 Bosch dishwasher, it’s a good idea to compare their similarities and differences.

What Is the Difference Between Bosch Series 4 and 6 Dishwashers?

The main difference between series 4 and 6 is that series 4 models don’t have the same number of washing and drying programs as series 6. Additionally, series 6 models have better water consumption ratings and make less noise. Understandably, series 6 dishwashers cost more than series 4.

Here is how these two dishwasher models compare:

  • Size: All Bosch dishwashers usually have a standard height of 24 inches (60 cm), but series 6 has a special version at only 17.7 in (45 cm). This makes it ideal if you have limited space for a dishwasher in your kitchen.
  • Water consumption rating: Series 4 models have a water consumption rating of 3.56 gallons (13.5 liters) of water, while series 6 dishwashers have a much better rating, at only 2.42 to 2.64 gallons (11 to 12 liters). Although this difference may not seem significant, it can make a notable difference in your water bill annually.
  • Tub: Starting from series 6, the dishwasher tub is made of stainless steel, while series 4 models have plastic tubs.
  • Noise: Series 4 models are louder than their series 6 counterparts (46 dB compared to the 44 dB of series 6 models).
  • Programs: Series 4 doesn’t have the Night Program or the Auto Delicate Program that series 6 has.
  • Price: Series 4 costs $600 to $750, while series 6 may cost between $700 to $1000.

Similarities Between Series 4 and 6 Dishwashers

There are plenty of similarities between Bosch series 4 and series 6 dishwashers, especially when it comes to the basics:

  • Capacity: Both series 4 and 6 have a capacity of 3.4 to 3.7 gallons (13 to 14 liters).
  • Energy requirement: The energy consumption is the same for both series, at 62 to 65 kW/h.
  • Available versions: Both series 4 and 6 come in three different versions: free-standing, integrated, or compact.
  • HomeConnect: Both series 4 and 6 connect to WiFi and can be controlled via the HomeConnect app.

Bosch Dishwasher Series 6 vs. 8

If you’re willing to spend a little more on your dishwasher, you may want to look for a series 6 or series 8 Bosch dishwasher.

Differences Between Series 6 and Series 8 Dishwashers

Series 8 includes several more features and options than the previous versions, such as series 6, offering top-quality dishwashing.

As a result, it’s also quite expensive:

  • Improved VarioDrawer: Unlike all previous versions, series 8 includes a VarioDrawer Pro, a dedicated drawer that holds cutlery and smaller utensils, with extra loading flexibility features, like lowerable components.
  • Drying assistant: Bosch series 8 dishwashers include a Drying Assistant, while series 6 models do not.
  • Noise: Series 8 noise level is at 42 dB, while series 6 is louder, at 44 dB.
  • Warranty: All Bosch models, including series 6, have a standard 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. Series 8, on the other hand, includes a 10-year motor warranty in addition to the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Price: Bosch series 8 dishwashers are more expensive than series 6 or any other models, at $1200 to $1500.

Similarities Between Series 6 and Series 8 Dishwashers

Series 8 is more similar to series 6 than any other model regarding capacity, energy requirement, and the tub’s material.

Let’s take a closer look at the similarities:

  • Capacity: Both series 6 and 8 have more or less the same capacity.
  • Energy requirement: The energy consumption is the same for both series, at 62 to 65 kW/h.
  • HomeConnect: Both series 4 and 6 connect to WiFi and can be controlled via the HomeConnect app.
  • Water consumption rating: Both series 6 and 8 have optimal water consumption ratings, at 2.42 to 2.64 gallons (11-12 liters).
  • Tub: Starting from series 6, Bosch dishwasher tubs are made of stainless steel, so series 6 and 8 have tubs made of the same material.
